As for #2, other than ClickUp 2.0 (when it launches on all platforms) or maybe TickTick once it matures a bit more, I haven't seen anything that would be make we want to try doing this. If you really want all data and management in one app, you basically have 2 options: either 1) true, 2-way sync with the user living in one or the other app (ex: Todoist + GCal) or 2) a single app.
Also makes for a nice way to maintain focus (having the dedicated desktop just for todo/cal).
